Rehabilitation of ex-Offenders

Our belief is that everybody deserves a second chance. Many ex-offenders regret their offences and would like to re-enter society. We understand the difficulties faced by ex-offenders and we feel our unique methodology of giving ownership to individuals of their own problems will enable them to overcome these difficulties and re-join society as contributing members.

Many of the problems encountered by ex-offenders are due to lack of suitable housing and having no direction or sense that things could get better. This will quickly lead to repeat offences.

To rectify this situation, we intend to acquire run down or dilapidated property and refurbish to provide individual affordable rental apartments. The works will be undertaken by the ex-offenders trained and supervised by volunteer qualified experts. The end result will be to provide the participants with quality living conditions at a sustainable affordable basis. As they have worked to provide their own apartments, it is considered that they will maintain them to a high standard. Thus they will have a reason to stay out of trouble, as there will be a zero tolerance contract with regard to anti-social conduct.

By participants learning, developing and acquiring various trades, skills and qualifications during the refurbishment process, followed by the reward of safe, affordable quality accommodation and ongoing employment, their life chances will be dramatically improved.
